In collaboration with Chris McVoy and Beth O'Neill this two story rear yard addition to a highly ornate townhouse in Brooklyn's Fort Greene acts to reactivate the parlor level by relocating the kitchen to the upper level of the rear addition. The glass box addition is intended to be a transparent component of the rear yard. The faceted geometry of the custom exterior glazing system folds outward at the corner. The lower level offers a small informal living area that connects to the rear garden through sliding doors. This project involved complete reworking of the existing townhouse mechanical systems and extensive review with the department of Buildings and Landmarks Preservation Commission.
